National Liberal Party (PNL) Arges Chairwoman, Justice Minister Alina Gorghiu, said on Friday at Villa Florica in Stefanesti, the former residence of the Bratianu family, that a major challenge for the Liberals in this election year is the fight against extremism and populism.
„Romania cannot send extremists to the European Parliament. We have an obligation to convince Romanians that populism is toxic for Romania, but also for Europe, that local administrations need liberal leadership to develop each locality and that Romania needs a liberal president from the end of this year,” Gorghiu said.
Liberals are marking the 149th anniversary of the founding of the PNL on Friday with a series of events organised at the Bratianu National Museum (Villa Florica) in the town of Stefanesti, Arges County.
