Monica Niculescu and Cristina Bucsa advance to Internationaux de Strasbourg doubles final

The pairing of Romanian Monica Niculescu and Spaniard Cristina Bucsa on Friday got through to the final of the doubles event of the WTA 500 Internationaux de Strasbourg tennis tournament – with a purse of EUR 802,237 – following their 6-1, 6-4 win over the second-seeded duo of Demi Schuurs (Netherlands) / Luisa Stefani (Brazil).

Niculescu and Bucsa, the Spanish player born in Chisinau, Rep. Moldova, claimed the victory in one hour and 14 minutes, securing a cheque for EUR 24,970 and 325 WTA doubles points.

In the final, Niculescu and Bucsa will play the winners of the match Leylah Fernandez (Canada) / Erin Routliffe (New Zealand) and Asia Muhammad (US) / Aldila Sutjiadi (Indonesia).
