Flood alert on rivers in 21 counties, until Thursday, at midnight

The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued, on Wednesday, a Code Yellow flood warning, valid until Thursday midnight on rivers in six hydrographic basins and on the rivers of Dobrogea, in 21 counties (out of 41 plus Bucharest).

According to the estimates made by hydrologists, between May 29 and May 30, at midnight, there will be flash floods, increases in flows and levels, with possible exceeding of the Attention Quotas, on the following water courses: Mures, Olt, Prahova, Calmatui, Ramnicu Sarat, Putna, Trotus, Bistrita, Moldova, Suceava, Barlad, Jijia and Prut.

Also, dangerous hydrological phenomena can occur on Dobrogea rivers (Constanta and Tulcea counties), as well as with greater probability and intensity on some rivers in Suceava, Neamt, Iasi, Sibiu and Hunedoara counties.
