The University of West Timisoara (UVT) is the first academic institution in Timisoara and the sixth in the country in the Round University Ranking (RUR) World University Rankings 2024.

UVT occupies the 814th position worldwide (out of a total of 1,169 ranked universities from 89 countries), the 293rd position at the European level (out of a total of 439 ranked universities from 35 countries) and the sixth position at the national level (from 17 universities present), reads a press release from UVT sent to AGERPRES on Thursday.

The Round University Rankings measure the performance of universities based on 20 performance indicators grouped into four categories: teaching (40%), research (40%), international diversity (10%) and financial sustainability (10%) and six fields of study: humanities, life sciences, natural sciences, technical sciences, social sciences and medical sciences.

The present rankings resulted from the analysis of the information provided by the universities by completing the Global Institutional Profiles Project (GIPP) platform developed by Clarivate Analytics, of the bibliometric and scientometric data extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection, Scopus, Google Scholar, databases and by interpreting studies regarding academic reputation.
