23 Syrians and Iranians, found at border, hidden in a truck

The western Arad border police caught 23 Syrians and Iranians who tried to leave Romania on Friday morning hiding in a truck carrying packages from Turkey to the Netherlands, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.

The driver is Turkish and was checked at the Nadlac II Border Crossing Point.

„Based on the risk profile, a detailed control was carried out on the means of transport, as a result of which the border police discovered, in the cargo compartment, 23 citizens from Syria and Iran, who intended to get fraudulently in a state from Western Europe,” the Arad Border Police mentions.

The migrants risk being investigated for attempting to cross the border illegally, while the driver, for migrant trafficking.
