USR’s Drula: PNL betrayed the middle class and brought PSD at rule

Published on

The National Liberal Party (PNL) betrayed the middle class and brought the Social Democratic Party (PSD) at rule, Save Romania Union (USR) Chairman and MP Catalin Drula said on Monday, adding that Romanians have to choose on June 9 „between theft and modernisation.”

„There are six days left until the elections and this Sunday people will find on the ballot paper a PSD – PNL and a United Right box. The choice is clear: theft or modernisation. PSD and PNL stole from the Romanians, increased their taxes and brought them high prices in order to pay for their special pensions, protocol villas and luxury holidays,” the USR leader told a press conference held at Parliament together with the leaders of the United Right Alliance.

He mentioned that USR is the creator of National Resilience and Recovery Programme (PNRR) and „brought 28 billion euros to Romania for the modernisation of the country.”

„The PNL betrayed the middle class and brought the PSD at rule. We have fought the PSD, the PSD mafia in Transport, in town halls and in Parliament. On Sunday a vote for PNL is a real vote for PSD. There is no metaphor, no figure of speech or exaggeration. They are running together on the same list, on the same ballot paper and, as Marcel Ciolacu announced, they want to make PSD – PNL majorities everywhere. In fact, there is only one party that has captured Romania, and Romania needs change. It is crucial that we do not fragment the votes for change. That’s what the PSD – PNL would do if they fragmented you and split your votes. The only real and solid alternative to the PSD – PNL thievery is the United Right Alliance – USR, People’s Movement Party (PMP), Right Force. A vote for our Alliance is a guarantee that they cannot steal our future, it is a guarantee that Romania will not remain a prisoner of PSD – PNL for 10 years from now. I urge Romanians to go to the polls, to vote for the United Right on all five ballots,” Drula said.

Asked if after the elections there could be a possibility of an alliance with PNL for the presidential elections, the USR leader denied: „The United Right Alliance and USR have always fought against pesedism and the PSD. Today the pesedism is in the PNL and is at the top of the PNL. Nicolae Ciuca is more pesedist than the pesedists, a hostage in his own service, a man who drew a special pension double his contribution, with tricks at the end, before retirement, with a history of trampling justice in Romania, a plagiarist, a man who doesn’t give a damn about democracy. He was in his own service and in the service of Iohannis. I think I have answered that very clearly. We will never allow the PNL to fool Romania again, as those who captured this party did after the last elections, and the bill they fear will come. It will come on June 9, but it will come especially in the presidential and parliamentary elections.”
