Supreme Defence Council to convene on June 20, look into transfer of PATRIOT system to Ukraine

President Klaus Iohannis has asked the Supreme Council for National Defence (CSAT) to convene on June 20 at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace to look into the transfer of a PATRIOT surface-to-air missile system to Ukraine, the Presidential Administration reported on Tuesday.

Also featuring on the agenda of the CSAT meeting will be Romania’s objectives for the 2024 NATO Summit; Romania’s armed forces and means of defence that can be made available for participation in missions and operations outside the national territory in 2025; recent developments in and future prospects for the ongoing conflict in Ukraine following the illegal and unjustified aggression of the Russian Federation and the implications for Romania; ruling on applications for licences to use 5G infrastructure equipment submitted by Bithat Solutions S.R.L. and ASEE Solutions S.R.L .
