Chairman of Save Romania Union (USR) Catalin Drula calls for the immediate dismissal of the president of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), Toni Grebla, alleging that „the biggest electoral frauds” in recent history has been committed at Sunday’s elections.

„I call for the immediate dismissal of Toni Grebla: electoral fraud must not be tolerated! Toni Grebla, the PSD-PNL [Social Democratic Party – National Liberal Party] puppet at AEP, must go immediately. Under his leadership, we see the biggest electoral frauds in recent history in full swing. It is clear that Grebla was, from the beginning, just the tool with which Ciolacu [prime minister Marcel Ciolacu] and Ciuca [PNL chairman Nicolae Ciuca] wanted to control the elections at any cost. What is happening in [Bucharest’s] districts 1 and 2 is the darkness of democracy. The refusal of the PSD-PNL mafia to recount the votes, despite all the clear evidence of fraud, shows that they are willing to shut down democracy as well,” the USR leader wrote on Facebook.

He argued that USR will not allow votes „to be manipulated and stolen by a corrupt system built” by PSD and PNL leaders.

„Hundreds of stolen votes, falsified minutes and a drifting electoral system – all this is happening under the eyes of Toni Grebla, who must resign. The PSD – PNL and their accomplice Toni Grebla are destroying democracy in Romania. We will defend our votes by all means. We will not allow our votes to be manipulated and stolen by a corrupt system built by Ciolacu and Ciuca. Grebla and those who put him there must pay for this fraud in progress and for destroying people’s faith in elections,” Catalin Drula went on to say.
