As many as 32,626 companies were deregistered nationally, in the first four months of 2024, with over 44% more compared to the similar period in 2023, according to the statistics of the National Trade Registry Office (ONRC).
The most deletions were registered in the Municipality of Bucharest, respectively 4,926 (up by 41.63% compared to January-April 2023) and in the counties of Cluj (1,640 +53.56%), Dambovita (1,447, +120.92%), Timis (1,314, +25.38%) and Constanta (1,246, +17.88%).
At the opposite pole, the fewest deletions were recorded in the counties of Calarasi (210, up by 6.06% compared to the first four months of last year), Ialomita (221, +61.31%), Giurgiu (247, + 33.51%) and Covasna (250, +50.60%).
The most significant increases in the number of deletions were registered in the counties of Dambovita (+120.92%), Harghita (+115.73%) and Maramures (+93.68%).
By field of activity, the highest number of deletions was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 7,540 (+27.52%, compared to the similar period in 2023), agriculture, forestry and fishing (3,823, +112.27%) and information and communications (2,727, +73.69%).
In April 2024, 7,334 companies were deregistered, most from Bucharest (1,100) and the counties of Cluj (349), Timis (316), Constanta and Dolj, both with 297 companies each.
