David Popovici qualifies with best time for 200-meter final at European Swimming Championships in Belgrade

The Romanian swimmer David Popovici qualified for the final of the 200 m freestyle, on Thursday, at the European Swimming Championships in Belgrade, with the best time of the semifinals, 1 min 46 sec 15/100.

Lithuanian Danas Rapsys was recorded with the second time of the semi-finals, 1 min 46 sec 44/100.

David Popovici, who won the gold medal in the 100 m free on Wednesday, will compete in the final in the 200 m free on Friday, from 19:36 (Romanian time).

In the 50m backstroke semifinals, Denis-Laurean Popescu was the last (16th), with 26 sec 81/100.

Romania will perform on Thursday evening (20:45) in the final of the men’s 4×100 m freestyle relay event.
