Secretary of state Traian Hristea holds consultations in Beijing with China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs

Secretary of State for Global Affairs and Diplomatic Strategies Traian Hristea held official consultations in Beijing with H.E. Mr. Deng Li, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, in the context of the 75th anniversary of Romanian-Chinese diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration on a Broad Partnership of Friendship and Cooperation.

  • The Romanian Ambassador to Beijing, Dan Maxim, also attended the consultations.

„I held today a round of official consultations in Beijing with H.E. Mr. Deng Li, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, in the context of the 75th anniversary of Romanian-Chinese diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration on a Broad Partnership of Friendship and Cooperation.

During the discussion we supported the deepening of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as education, culture, agriculture and tourism and emphasized the importance of developing trade and economic relations with the P.R. of China, based on the principles of reciprocity, fairness, transparency and openness.

In addition, during the consultations, we also welcomed the signing of two protocols in the agri-food sector”, says Traian Hristea.
