Foreign Affairs Minister Luminita Odobescu arrived on Friday in Chisinau, for a Republic of Moldova-Romania-Ukraine trilateral meeting. In the morning, the Romanian top diplomat met with her Moldovan counterpart Mihai Popsoi, MOLDPRES reports.
The two foreign ministers discussed bilateral cooperation and ways to take benefit of joint projects. „It gave me a great pleasure to welcome Romanian chief diplomat Luminita Odobescu at the Republic of Moldova’s Foreign Affairs Ministry. At the meeting we discussed the outlooks of bilateral cooperation and capitalizing on joint projects in the fields energy, infrastructure, agriculture and education,” emphasized Minister Mihai Popsoi, who also thanked the Bucharest authorities for the support given to the Republic of Moldova in the official launch of its accession negotiations to the European Union. „Romania has always been and remains a fervent and sincere supporter of the Republic of Moldova along its irreversible journey towards the grand European family,” said Popsoi.
According to Luminita Odobescu, Romania will continue to assist the Republic of Moldova in the implementation of the reforms required for its EU integration. „I congratulate you on this historic moment. The Republic of Moldova has proven that, if determination is there, it can be done. You can count on Romania’s support.”
Luminita Odobescu will participate in the Republic of Moldova-Romania-Ukraine trilateral meeting hosted on Friday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau and which is set to approach a wide range of topics, from regional energy cooperation and the joint development of a modern and resilient transport infrastructure, to regional partnerships on fighting disinformation.
