The turnover of market services rendered mainly to businesses over January – May 2024 was 2.3 percent up in unadjusted nominal terms from the same period of 2023, and 2.7 percent higher workday- and seasonally-adjusted, shows data released on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
In unadjusted terms, this advance was the effect of growth in the turnover of the production of cinema, video and television programs; program broadcasting and transmission (+16 percent), computing and IT services (+9.4 percent), other services provided mainly to enterprises (+1.5 percent), and communication activities (+0.2 percent). Conversely, transport activities dropped 4.6 percent.
In May 2024, the turnover of market services provided mainly to enterprises, unadjusted, was 14.1 higher year-over-year due to the increase in the turnover of the production of cinema, video and television programs; broadcasting and transmission of programs (+49.4 percent), other services provided mainly to businesses (+17.9 percent), computing and IT services (+13.8 percent), communications (+11.7 percent), and transport activities (+4 percent).
Adjusted for workdays and seasonality, the turnover of market services provided mainly to enterprises this May was 16.1 percent higher overall compared to the year-ago period.
