PM Ciolacu excludes any fiscal change in absence of prior public consultations

Published on

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu declared on Thursday that before they get on the government’s table, all fiscal changes will first have to be submitted to public consultation and obtain the consent of the private sector and the civil society, citing in this regard the example of the so-called fiscal ID number.

„From now on, no fiscal change can get to the government without a completed public consultation thereon and before an agreement with the private sector and civil society is reached. Neither Finance Minister Bolos, nor other ministers can come up with projects such as the fiscal ID number, for example, before having gone through this circuit. I think this is the right way and this is what the Romanians and the business environment expect,” Ciolacu said at the beginning of the government meeting.
