Climate Change Summit 2024 returns with new edition, from October 15 to 17, in Bucharest

The largest event in Central and Eastern Europe focused exclusively on solutions for climate challenges – Climate Change Summit – returns with its third edition organized between October 15 – 17, at the National Opera in Bucharest, as well as in other places in the capital city and the country, say the organizers in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.

For three days, dozens of climate innovation leaders, environmental policy experts, researchers, entrepreneurs and government officials will meet to find local and regional solutions for a sustainable future.

Under the motto „Solutions for a greener tomorrow on the horizon”, this year’s event promises a multidisciplinary approach, announcing the first six internationally renowned speakers who will bring diverse perspectives and innovative solutions to the challenges of climate change : Bas van Abel – promoter of sustainable design and founder of Fairphone, the most sustainable smartphone in the world, and De Clique; Julia Okatz – director at Systemiq, specialized in urban planning and resilient cities; Barbara and Christoph Promberger – executive directors of the Conservation Carpathia Foundation; Oliver Bolton – CEO of Earthly, focused on ecological regeneration; Pauline Grumel – founder of UNISOAP, which innovates hygiene solutions through recycling; Dr. Theresa Spandel from Climate and Company – expert in sustainability governance (ESG) management; Thomas Kolster – founder of the Goodvertising movement.

From conservation and regeneration, to ethics in design and advertising, the solutions presented by top professionals will cover topics such as: smartphone with sustainable design; reimagined urban spaces; Fagaras Mountains – a Yellowstone of Europe; the regeneration of the planet Earth; recycling for global hygiene; transparency in the management of sustainability governance; advertising for a positive impact.

After two successful editions, which brought together over 2,900 participants, almost two million online viewers and more than 160 speakers, the summit adds the Climate Change Summit Awards under its umbrella.

Climate Change Summit 2024 is organized by Social Innovation Solutions, together with BRD Groupe Societe Generale, as a founding partner, and together with Auchan Romania as a strategic partner, Mastercard, climate partner and Romstal; as well as Societe Generale Global Solutions Center, Danone, IKEA Romania and mobility partner ALD Automotive.

Among the institutional partners are: the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the General Secretariat of the Government, the Department for Sustainable Development, the Ministry of the Environment, Waters and Forests, the Representation of the European Commission in Romania, the European Institute in Romania, Europe Direct.
