The tax threshold for pensions will increase from October 1, 2024, from 2,000 lei, as it is at present, to 3,000 lei, labour minister Simona Bucura-Oprescu announced on Monday evening.

„This evening I have good news for pensioners! After an analysis made together with Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, we have decided that, as of October 1, the Day of the Elderly, no pension under 3,000 lei will be taxed anymore,” the labour minister told Realitatea TV private television broadcaster.

Thus, from October 1, the tax will represent 10% of the difference exceeding 3,000 lei.
