The National Day of the Republic of Moldova offers the opportunity to remember and appreciate the essential contributions of the neighbouring country to the cultural heritage of the Romanian space, the Ministry of Culture says, reaffirming its commitment to develop cultural collaboration with Chisinau.
„Today is the National Day of the Republic of Moldova, the day on which the Bessarabians celebrate 33 years of independence, 33 years since breaking away from the Soviet Union. This day gives us the opportunity to remember and appreciate the essential contributions of the Republic of Moldova to the cultural heritage of the Romanian space. The Republic of Moldova, as an important cultural partner, shares with Romania a deep historical connection and a valuable heritage,” read on Tuesday the Facebook page of the Ministry of Culture.
According to the source, among the important initiatives carried out together during this period is the Reunion of Romanian National Theaters in Chisinau, which, this year, will be held under the banner „European Connections”.
„This event is honoured by the High Patronage of the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, and of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu. We actively support this significant cultural project, which underlines our common commitment to the promotion of culture”, the representatives of the ministry say.
Also, Romania will continue to support the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the Bookfest International Book Fair in Bucharest and the presence of Chisinau artists in the Venice Art Biennale.
„We hope that, in the future, the Republic of Moldova will be officially recognized at the Venice Biennale, thus consolidating its cultural status on an international level,” the source mentioned.
The Ministry of Culture of Romania reaffirms its commitment to develop cultural collaboration with the Republic of Moldova, contributing to the valorization of the heritage and the common artistic creation, the Facebook page of the ministry also reads.
