Necessary disbursements made for Romania’s seniors to receive increased pensions, FinMin announces

The Finance Ministry has made the necessary disbursements for Romania’s seniors to receive their increased pensions, and the RON 11.6 billion covering all the recalculated and raised pensions will be available in the accounts of the National Public Pensions Office on Thursday, Finance Minister Marcel Bolos announced.

„The Finance Ministry made the largest transfer of funds in recent history: we made the disbursement so that Romania’s seniors receive increased pension benefits. I always urged caution and argued that all categories of public spending must be based on sustainability, advising the balanced management of the general budget. Exactly for this reason I thank our colleagues at the National Tax Administration Authority who attract the necessary resources, the budget department for managing budget credits, and the colleagues from the State Treasury, for managing public cash flows and payments. Just a little time ago I was notified by the State Treasury management that the RON 11.6 billion for the payment of all recalculated and increased pensions will be transferred today into the accounts of the National Public Pensions Office. The difference of up to RON 12.5 billion will be transferred for the other social assistance benefits,” the minister wrote on Facebook, adding that the National Pensions Office now needs to take to the Bucharest Treasury the distribution orders, so that „the 3.8 million pensioners who have waited for so many years for the correction of inequities receive their due rights” as of September 1.
