Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev warns nuclear threat is not a bluff

Published on

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday that Russia has the right to defend itself with nuclear weapons if it is pushed beyond its limits and specified that this is „certainly not a bluff”, according to Reuters, Agerpres reads.

„Let’s imagine that Russia is forced to use the most terrifying weapons against the Ukrainian regime that has committed an act of aggression on a large scale, which is dangerous for the very existence of our state. „I think that NATO will not interfere directly in the conflict, even in this scenario. Demagogues overseas and in Europe will not die in a nuclear apocalypse”, claimed Dmitri Medvedev in a post on Telegram.

Approximately 90% of the world’s nuclear warheads are owned by Russia and the US, which remain by far the largest nuclear powers.

”I must remind you again – for those deaf ears that only listen to them: Russia has the right to use nuclear weapons if necessary”, he added.
