„[I am here – editor’s note] for strengthening cooperation with PM Netanyahu and our Israeli friends. Romania and the Romanian Government supports Israel’s right to self-defence, as we are worried about the security situation in the region and the danger of an escalation,” Ciolacu wrote on the X platform.

The head of the Executive is paying a visit to the State of Israel on Thursday.

The prime minister is accompanied by a delegation that includes the minister of defence, Angel Tilvar, the minister of foreign affairs, Luminita Odobescu, the minister of economy, entrepreneurship and tourism, Radu Oprea, and deputy Silviu Vexler.

The agenda of the visit also includes a one-on-one meeting of the Romanian PM with the Israeli president, Isaac Herzog, and also a plenary meeting of the Romanian government delegation with Israeli officials is scheduled.

For their part, the ministers accompanying PM Marcel Ciolacu will have bilateral meetings with their Israeli counterparts, respectively, the Israeli minister of defence, Yoav Gallant, the minister of foreign affairs of the State of Israel, Yisrael Katz, and the Israeli minister of economy and industry, Nir Barkat, the Executive also specifies.
