Bucharest Music Film Festival will take place from Saturday until September 22 in George Enescu Square, the program including dozens of artistic performances with free access dedicated to audiences of all ages.

For nine days, Bucharest Music Film Festival – 12th edition will bring on the stage of George Enescu Square renowned artists and orchestras, both national and international, such as: Valentina Nafornita, Alexandru Tomescu, National Radio Orchestra, Camerata Regala, George Enescu Philharmonic Choir, under the baton of conductors such as Constantin Adrian Grigore, Cristian Spataru, Iosif Prunner and Octavian Lup, Mircea Baniciu and Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica, Big Band Radio, Luiza Zan, Madalina Paval Orchestra, Leyah and many others, who will perform in a variety of musical styles, from classical music to jazz, cinematic music and pop fusion, the organizers said on Wednesday.

* In the opening of the festival, on Saturday, September 14, music lovers will be able to attend a performance by Camerata Regala (Royal Camerata), conducted by Constantin Adrian Grigore, and the George Enescu Philharmonic Choir, conducted by Iosif Prunner, who will perform on stage in George Enescu Square from 20.00;

* Dreams and Drums by Mihai Ciprian Rogojan will be performed on September 15, followed by sounds inspired by Moldavian and Balkan traditions by the Madalina Paval Orchestra;

* The life of the legendary composer Ennio Morricone will be retraced through the screening of the documentary film „Ennio”, directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, which will be screened on Monday, September 16, at 20:00;

* Leyah and her Cinestezia project will offer a unique fusion of pop and classical music on September 17 and a jazz performance by Luiza Zan and her band on September 18;

* On September 19, Alexandru Tomescu will perform works by Niccolo Paganini, in a unique concert together with guitarist Dragos Ilie, and the Resonant Quintet will bring music for wind instruments to the festival stage, while on Friday, September 20, the Radio Romania Big Band, conducted by Simona Strungaru, will take the stage together with Mircea Baniciu, Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica, Teo Boar and Vlady Cnejevici;

* World Peace Day, celebrated on September 21, will be marked by the Bucharest Music Film Festival with the concert Romania for Peace, financed by the Ministry of Culture, featuring the New Hope Orchestra, conducted by Octavian Lup, together with violinist Valentin Serban and soprano Veronica Anusca.

This year’s edition will end on Sunday, September 22, with a classical music concert presented by the National Radio Orchestra, conducted by Cristian Spataru, with the participation of the famous soprano Valentina Nafornita, who will perform works from the classical repertoire of composer Giacomo Puccini.

The 12th edition, organized by the Bucharest City Hall, through ARCUB – Cultural Center of the Municipality of Bucharest, will take place under the aegis of Bucharest Days, celebrating 565 years since the first documentary attestation of the city.
