Public health officials assessing health risks in flooded areas

Published on

The Galati Public Health Directorate (DSP) has announced carrying out health risk field assessments in the areas affected by floods, saying that they will restock on hepatitis A vaccines for children on Tuesday.

According to DSP, the field assessments are carried out by four teams.

„Amid the floods that have affected a large part of the population of Galati County, the Galati Public Health Directorate has set up four teams of four people each from the Department of Public Health Surveillance and the Public Health Control Service, teams that are at the scene to assess the risks that can influence the health status of the population and taking action to identify public health problems,” DSP Galati told AGERPRES on Monday.

DSP says that the stock of tetanus vaccines needed in the current epidemiological context is sufficient.

„In the current epidemiological context, the Surveillance and Control of Communicable Diseases Department of the Galati Public Health Directorate has a sufficient stock of tetanus vaccine for adults and ADACEL vaccines for children to prevent diphtheria tetanus and pertussis. On the other hand, tomorrow, we will receive the hepatitis A vaccine for children as the related procurement procedure has already been completed. So far, no special situations have been reported.”
