Romanian kinderkarten and school European Innovative Teaching Award recipients

Published on

A kindergarten and a school in Romania have been awarded by the European Commission for innovative teaching as part of the European Innovative Teaching Award, the Education Ministry informed on Thursday.

„Ciupercuta” kindergarten in District 4 of the capital won the award in the category „Education and care of pre-school children” for the project „Amazing Children, Amazing Nature” (ACAN), while the Special Secondary School in Pascani was awarded in the category „Secondary education” for the project „Art therapy for Autism.”

The Innovative Teaching Awards, created in 2021, are offered on the basis of four criteria: methodologies used, innovation environments, role of teachers, impact and results.

According to the Education Ministry, the prize recognises the contribution of Erasmus+ to the European Education Area and the importance of cooperation and networking between schools across Europe. In 2024, the central theme was „Well-being in Schools,” reflecting educational efforts that contribute to a healthy and inclusive school environment.
