More than half of Romanians (62%) will enthusiastically use AI technology in all aspects of life, because it will be integrated in most devices, according to a specialized survey conducted in September in Romania.
In fact, most of the Romanians, respectively 89%, declare that when they think of buying a smartphone, they pay attention to whether it is equipped with AI technology and consider that this represents a purchase criterion.
„AI has come a long way and is now integrated into all our product categories, which is one of the ways in which Samsung lives up to its commitment to make users’ lives easier. In fact, the majority of consumers who choose products with AI integrated, respectively 65%, make this choice to simplify routine daily tasks, and 30% use AI for entertainment, according to our research,” said Simona Panait, Head of Corporate Marketing & Communications South-East Europe, Samsung Electronics Romania and Bulgaria.
However, the survey carried out by Samsung shows that users in Romania are just discovering this technology and need support to understand the full benefits it can bring. The survey carried out in Romania shows that approximately 56% of Romanians do not feel sufficiently informed about artificial intelligence, which is also one of the reasons why some users confuse AI functions with various software solutions that either edit photos, for example.
At the same time, a similar trend is observed at the European level, after a survey carried out for Samsung on a representative sample of 11,000 respondents showed that 15% of Europeans know how to obtain these benefits in everyday life and 38 % declared that they do not feel included in the current discussions about artificial intelligence.
Romania aligns with European trends also from the perspective of the enthusiasm with which consumers look at the purchase of products with integrated AI technology, especially because users expect it to offer them more convenience and more free time. Thus, the presence of Artificial Intelligence constitutes a purchase criterion for 73% of Romanians who intend to buy a new AI television set, for 63% of those who intend to purchase a washing machine and/or a dryer, 54% in the case of refrigerators, 51% in the case of ovens and 46% in the case of vertical and/or robotic vacuum cleaners, shows the study carried out at the local level. Among the electrical appliances that Romanians currently use, the washing machine and/or the dryer and the refrigerator are the ones that 51% would like to replace with ones that have integrated AI.
The survey carried out in September by Cult Research for Samsung aimed to explore the attitudes and perceptions of Romanians related to AI technology, identify the degree of knowledge of AI technology, the degree and frequency of technology use and identify the ways of using technology. It was conducted online and had a sample of 400 respondents with internet access from Romania, aged over 18, mostly from the urban areas.
