29 foreigners found hiding in two trucks at western border

The western Arad border police detected 29 people from Syria, Iraq and Turkey who tried to illegally cross the border into Hungary, hidden in two trucks that were going to France and Germany.

„At Nadlac Border Crossing Points I and II, a Romanian citizen and a Turkish citizen, driving vehicles registered in Romania and Turkey respectively, presented themselves for the border formalities on the way out of the country. According to the documents accompanying the goods, the trucks were transporting resin and medical equipment for commercial companies from France and Germany. Following the thorough control of the means of transport, 29 foreign citizens were discovered hidden in semi-trailers among the transported goods,” the Arad Border Police announced on Tuesday.

The two drivers are being investigated for migrant trafficking, while the foreigners hidden in the trucks, for attempting to fraudulently cross the state border.
