Industrial production prices increased by 2.7% in August of this year compared to the same period in 2023, according to the data published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
At the same time, on a monthly basis, August vs. July 2024, the prices of industrial production as a whole (domestic market and foreign market) decreased by 1.1%.
The INS data reveals that, from year to year, on the major industrial groups, prices in the capital goods industry increased by 6.58%, in the consumer goods industry they registered an increase of 3.51%, in the energy increased by 2.43%, while the durable goods industry was on an upward trend, by 1.56%. On the other hand, prices reported in the intermediate goods industry decreased by 0.39%.
According to the quoted source, depending on the sections and industrial divisions, in August 2024, compared to the same interval of the previous year, the price index of industrial production (internal market and external market) increased by 13.61% in Water Distribution; sanitation, waste management, decontamination activities, with 6.25% in the Production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, gas, hot water and air conditioning, with 2.67% in the extractive industry, respectively with 1.41% in the processing industry.
