PNL’s Ciuca: Standard and Poor’s country rating – proof of economic stability

Standard and Poor’s country rating of BBB-/A3 for Romania is „a proof of economic stability to which all citizens and companies that are good payers contribute directly,” National Liberal Party (PNL) Chairman Nicolae Ciuca said on Saturday.

„I want to thank all of you who have paid your tax obligations on time. The 3% bonus granted by the Government through the Finance Ministry and for which the National Liberal Party has tabled an amendment in Parliament to increase it to 5% – is a gesture of appreciation from the state for your responsibility, for those who work and pay their tax obligations, and this helps us to maintain economic balance,” said the Liberal leader on Facebook.

He calls on the Government led by Marcel Ciolacu to take measures to „consolidate” these results, namely to submit to the European Commission a concrete fiscal-budgetary plan that would include: increasing investments from national funds, while maintaining those from European funds, with specific allocations for local authorities; reducing current state spending to adjust the budget deficit; continuing the absorption of European funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the Cohesion Policy, „as was successfully achieved in 2022-2023.”

„Through these measures and your contribution we can ensure a stable and prosperous future for Romania,” Nicolae Ciuca added.
