Chamber of Deputies plenum approves DNA request to carry out searches in Nelu Tataru’s case

The plenary sitting of the Chamber of Deputies on Monday approved the request of the National Anti-corruption Directorate to carry out computer and house searches in the case of former Liberal minister Nelu Tataru, who is accused of taking bribery.

There were 177 deputies voting ‘in favour’ of the request, 12 voted ‘against’ and there was one abstention

The voting was secret, with ballots.

According to the regulations, the decision will be taken based on the majority of votes of the deputies in attendance.

The legal committee of the Deputies Chamber on Monday unanimously approved a report allowing the DNA to proceed with the computer and house searches in Nelu Tataru’s case. Nelu Tataru was also present at the Deputies Chamber session, accompanied by six lawyers. Before the sitting, he claimed he was innocent, that he never took bribery from the patients and said that he wants to make justice in his case.
