CultMin Turcan: Astra Film Festival promises unique, profound experiences

Culture Minister Raluca Turcan on Tuesday said that the Culture Ministry supports the Astra Film Festival, a non-fiction film event that „promises unique, profound experiences.”

„Cinema unites us again, here, in Sibiu. Our city is the open stage for the 31st edition of the international non-fiction film festival. True stories will be told. Destinies and realities that will invite the public to imagination will be presented. Astra Film Festival promises unique, profound experiences that will make us think and touch our souls,” said Turcan in a social media post.

Also, Turcan, MP from Sibiu, showed that she has supported this event since the first edition and congratulated the organisers on how the festival has grown from year to year.

„I have been a supporter and a fan of this festival from the beginning, and as minister of culture I want to congratulate the Astra Film team, which has managed to make this festival grow year after year. Documentary films, immersive shows, opportunities for young filmmakers, film workshops for children, all these will make Astra Film Festival 2024 an edition that is hard to forget. Astra Film Festival together with the International Theatre Festival of Sibiu, SCAF, Jazz Festival, ARTmania and Sibiu Opera are events that the Ministry of Culture supports in Sibiu, year after year and that bring joy to the Sibiu public, and also to the tourists who come here, often for these shows. Let me congratulate the team for the effort to transform the Astra Film Festival into a landmark of global documentary and I wish it continued success in inspiring and educating the public through cinema,” said Turcan.

Astra Film Festival will take place between October 20-27, in Sibiu.

The festival schedule is available on the event’s own website, www.astrafilm.ro.
