More than 230,000 new jobs were posted in the first 9 months of the year, down by approximately 15% compared to the same period last year, and half of them came from employers in Bucharest and Ilfov, according to an online recruitment platform.
More than 110,000 opportunities for candidates were available for the Capital alone, eJobs.ro shows.
Cluj is the county with the second largest range of jobs, but at a significant distance from Bucharest, given that employers in the county have posted almost 40,000 jobs since the beginning of the year until now. Iasi ranks 3rd, with 34,000 jobs, followed by Brasov (29,000) and Timis (28,000) counties.
On the other hand, the counties where the candidates had the fewest employment opportunities were Ialomita, Mures, Braila, Arges and Neamt, a hierarchy almost identical to the first nine months of 2023.
Retail remains the main large employer in the counties that are at the top of the ranking, but here, in addition to retail, there are also other fields, such as call-center/BPO, constructions, production, financial services or IT.
„Naturally, the area of opportunities is much more diversified in large counties, first of all because most investments are concentrated there, but also because some of these areas also recruit a significant number of specialists and candidates from the white collar segment (with higher education), and they can hardly find them in small towns today. There is a permanent transfer of talents and specialists from small towns to big ones because there they have more chances of employment, and salaries are, obviously better,” mentioned the representative of the recruitment platform.
