Romania moves up to 43rd place in FIFA ranking

Romania’s national team moved up two places to 43rd in the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) world rankings published on Thursday, following victories in October against Cyprus and Lithuania in the Nations League.

The Tricolour team, under coach Mircea Lucescu, beat Cyprus 3-0 away and Lithuania 2-1.

In the top 10 ranking, world champion Argentina, runner-up France and European champion Spain remain at the top. Portugal moved up one place (7th), the Netherlands dropped one place to 8th and Italy moved up one place to 9th.

Romania’s opponents in the Nations League are on the following places: Kosovo – 101 (+3), Cyprus – 127 (-4) and Lithuania – 141 (-2).
