Published on

Bucharest’s Sector 1 Court accepted on Tuesday the request of prosecutors to extend the house arrest measure for Alfred Bulai by 30 days, in the case in which the sociologist is accused of sexually assaulting female students from the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA).

Initially, Alfred Bulai was placed in preventive custody on September 5, but he was in Police’s custody for only one week, after the Bucharest Court decided on September 12 that he be placed under house arrest.

The former professor from SNSPA is accused of committing the crimes of abuse of office for sexual purposes and sexual assault.

The investigation started from a journalistic investigation carried out by the Snoop website. Alfred Bulai allegedly sexually harassed several female students, and some of the assaults allegedly took place during practical courses organized in rural areas.
