Rareș Bogdan brings good news from Brussels on Romania and Bulgaria’s full accession to the Schengen area

Published on

„We have extraordinary progress in the case of Romania and Bulgaria in terms of the conditions for accession to the Schengen area,” writes MEP Rareș Bogdan on Facebook, quoting a statement by Magnus Brunner (EPP), Commissioner-designate for Home Affairs and Migration.

  • „Romania and Bulgaria are already partially in the Schengen area, in the Schengen Air and it must be said that they have behaved admirably, I would say beyond expectations.

We have a very good dialog at the moment with Romania and Bulgaria, at the level of the Interior and Foreign Ministries and at the level of the Presidency.

I am personally absolutely convinced that this dialog will lead to the full accession of RO and BG to the Schengen area as soon as possible. I am committed to the further expansion of my election as Commissioner of the Schengen area”, said a few minutes ago Magnus Brunner (Epp), Commissioner-designate for Home Affairs and Migration – during the hearings in the LIBE Committee of the European Parliament, of which I am a member”, Bogdan notes.
