Net investments in the national economy accounted for 130.953 billion RON in the first nine months of this year, up 2.6% compared to the first nine months of 2023, according to provisional data released on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Thus, in the third quarter of 2024, net investments amounted to 51.781 billion RON, up 0.4% compared to the same period last year. Decreases were recorded in the structural elements: equipment (including means of transport) by 5.9% and new construction works by 1.4%.
Over January 1 – September 30, 2024, compared to the period January 1 – September 30, 2023, net investments in the national economy increased by 2.6%, as a result of the increase recorded in other expenses by 54.9%. Decreases were recorded in the structural elements: new construction works by 2.4% and equipment (including means of transport) by 1.6%, the INS specifies.
„Net investments represent the expenses intended for the creation of new fixed assets, the development, modernisation and rebuilding of existing ones, as well as the value of services related to the transfer of ownership of existing fixed assets and of land taken over for payment from other units or from the population (notary fees, commissions, transport and handling expenses, etc.),” the INS also shows.
