Minister of Education, Daniel David, on Tuesday stated that, in May, he will come up with a framework-proposal for high school that will benefit from a „wide support,” noting that the Ministry’s project should not remain standing from the start.
„We are in the debate phase of the framework plans, a debate phase that is a bit more atypical for our society, because we are not used to debating, but people are starting to have constructive opinions, so that, if things go well, in May we will come up with a framework-proposal that, very importantly, as I said, should benefit from a wide support, because the Ministry’s project should not remain standing from the start,” said David, in Parliament, after the debates in the budget committees, when asked about the introduction of digital textbooks.
The minister mentioned that, if started in the fall, the textbook project will be introduced in the 2026-2027 school year „in a modern and attractive form, both in print and online.”
„After that, we move to the curricula, which are a fundamental element, meaning that the content you want to push forward matters. I think we could do this by the fall and then from the fall we will deal with the other two fundamental aspects, namely the textbooks and teacher training. And if we start the textbook project in the fall, we will certainly manage to have them in a modern and attractive form, both in print and online, by the 2026-2027 school year,” added Daniel David.
On January 31, the Ministry of Education and Research put out for debate its framework plans for high school.
