Four foreign nationals, aged between 17 and 24, who were not carrying supporting documents for traveling in the Schengen Area, were found by border police on DN 5D, in a car driven by a 40-year-old Bulgarian citizen.

„Near the Giurgiu-Ruse Border Crossing Point, on DN 5D, Giurgiu border police officers stopped for control a car registered in Bulgaria, driven by a 40-year-old Bulgarian citizen. It had as passengers four foreign citizens, aged between 17 and 24, who were not carrying supporting documents for traveling in the Schengen Area. The persons verbally declared that they were Syrian and Iranian nationals,” reads a press release issued on Friday by Giurgiu Border Police Territorial Inspectorate (ITPF).

In view of the issues found, under the readmission agreement concluded between Romania and Bulgaria, the persons and the means of transport were handed over to the border authorities of the neighboring country.
