Romania’s Justice Minister Radu Marinescu on Wednesday welcomed Spain’s ambassador to Romania José Antonio Hernandez Perez-Solorzano to discuss shared priorities in the field of justice.

The discussions hosted by the Ministry of Justice were designed to strengthen bilateral judicial cooperation, with Marinescu mentioning excellent judicial cooperation between the two nations, both in criminal matters and in civil and commercial matters.

„The officials discussed a series of shared priorities in the field of justice, expressing, at the same time, willingness to continue the firm steps to improve bilateral judicial cooperation, in order to promote the Romanian-Spanish interests.”

Over the last two decades, the relations between the two nations have intensified as a result of the presence on Spanish soil of a significant Romanian community.

Marinescu also said, during the official meeting, that he will pay „special attention” to identifying the optimal solutions for strengthening the relations between Romania and Spain in the area of judicial cooperation.
