The Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) informed on Monday that the total number of enfranchised citizens registered in the Electoral Register as of February 28, 2025, is 19,005,434, which is 5,996 more than on January 31, 2025, when according to the data, 18,999,438 Romanian voters were registered in the Electoral Register.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, the differences arise as a result of the ongoing operations performed by mayors in the Electoral Register of the administrative-territorial units they manage, as well as the import of data from the General Directorate for Persons Records.

The number of voters who turned 18 between February 1 and February 28, 2025, is 15,435, and they have been registered in the Electoral Register ex officio by the Permanent Electoral Authority, based on the communication from the General Directorate for Persons Records.

The data imported from the DGEP reveals that 1,406 new voters were registered, and the data imported from the General Directorate of Passports shows that 10,338 new voters were registered.

The AEP mentions that of the total number of Romanian voters in the Electoral Register, 17,999,978 have their domicile or residence in the country, while 1,005,456 have their domicile abroad and hold a CRDS passport.
