Presidential election 2025/ S.O.S Romania’s Sosoaca submits presidential bid

Published on

National leader of S.O.S. Romania Diana Sosoaca on Thursday submitted to the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) her candidacy for the presidential election.

On Wednesday, she announced that she will submit her file on Thursday to join the electoral race, claiming that the Central Electoral Bureau and the Constitutional Court can no longer reject her candidacy for the same reasons as in October 2024.

As of Wednesday, BEC validated the candidacies submitted by Nicusor Dan (independent) and Crin Antonescu (‘Forward Romania’ Alliance).

The deadline for submitting the bids is March 15.

In October 2024, the Constitutional Court of Romania took up by a majority vote the appeals filed by two persons and cancelled the Decision of the Central Electoral Bureau no. 18 of October 3, 2024 on the registration of the candidacy and electoral sign of Diana Iovanovici-Sosoaca in the 2024 election for the President of Romania.
