A poll conducted by the Avangarde Socio-Behavioral Studies Group shows that, if presidential elections were held next Sunday, George Simion would gather 30% of the votes, Crin Antonescu would receive 23%, followed by Nicusor Dan with 21%.

The research estimates that 45% of the respondents have already decided who they will vote for, while 54% have not made a decision yet.

If elections were held next Sunday, 30% of respondents would vote for George Simion (Alliance for Romanians’ Union-AUR+POT), 23% for Crin Antonescu (Social Democratic Party-PSD+National Liberal Party-PNL+Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania-UDMR), 21% for Nicusor Dan (independent), 14% for Victor Ponta (independent), 8% for Elena Lasconi (Save Romania Union-USR), 1% for Daniel Funeriu (independent) and 3% would choose a different candidate.

At the same time, 47% of those surveyed identified themselves as centre-oriented ideologically, while 21% consider themselves right-wing and 17% left-wing.

On the other hand, 36% of respondents said that they are more likely to be part of the „pro-Western camp,” while 22% see themselves in the „sovereignist camp.” 38% said they do not belong to either of these camps.

The poll was conducted nationwide between March 19 and 23, on 1,300 subjects, using the Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) method. The maximum sampling error, with a 95% confidence level, is +/- 2.3%.
