The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) moved to appeal the ruling of the Ploiesti Appelate Court to uphold a request for the suspension of the CCR ruling of December 6, 2024 that annulled the 2024 presidential election, a release informs.

The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Ploiesti Appellate Court, the Constitutional Court of Romania, as well as two individuals who are not parties to the case filed an appeal lawsuit against the ruling.

„Given the information circulated in the public space regarding the status of the lawsuits seeking the suspension of the execution of Constitutional Court Ruling No. 32 of December 6, 2024 until the final resolution of the case, as well as the reversal of this ruling, we hereby clarify that as of April 10, 11 files were on the docket of the Ploiesti Appelate Court – Administrative and Fiscal Litigation Section, regarding actions promoted by various individuals, requesting the suspension of the execution of the challenged administrative act until the final resolution of each case, as well as the overturning of Constitutional Court Ruling 32 of December 6, 2024”, informed the Ploiesti Appelate Court.

Of the said eleven files, four have trial dates set on April 29 or April 30, and five are in the preliminary procedure phase, with no trial dates yet established, the Ploiesti Appelate Court specified.

On Thursday, a judge from the Ploiesti Appelate Court of Appeal admitted a request for the suspension of the CCR ruling of December 6, 2024 annulling the presidential election.

”Admits the head of claim regarding the suspension of the execution of the challenged administrative act. Suspends the execution of the Constitutional Court’ Ruling No. 32 of December 6, 2024, until the final resolution of the case. Admits the action for annulment. Overturns the Constitutional Court’s Ruling No. 32 of December 6, 2024. (…) Appealable within 5 days of the ruling,” show the minutes of the decision.
