Romania’s acting President Ilie Bolojan on Tuesday met Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on the sidelines of the Three Seas Initiative Summit, hosted by the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland.

„Excellent talks with President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev in Warsaw. We discussed bilateral, EU, and NATO coordination for developing our infrastructure interconnections and enhancing our security cooperation, with the aim of consolidating our economies and strengthening the Eastern Flank,” Bolojan said in a social media post.

The summit in Poland marks ten years since the implementation of this initiative. Discussions will focus both on topics of regional interconnectivity in transport and energy, as well as on current security issues.

The Three Seas Initiative is a flexible and informal political platform at presidential level that brings together the 12 EU member states located between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia). Greece became the 13th country, having joined the Three Seas Initiative in 2023.
