Victor Negrescu, letter addressed to the leadership of European institutions, requesting support for Romania’s candidacy to host the future European Maritime Safety Hub for the Black Sea in Constanța

Published on

PSD MEP Victor Negrescu announces that he has initiated a letter addressed to the leadership of the European institutions in which, together with my fellow MEPs, beyond political differences, we support Romania’s candidacy to host the future European Maritime Safety Hub for the Black Sea in Constanța.

„All MEPs from the PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR, and Green parties, as well as a colleague from the ECR group, have signed to support this initiative.

This is clear proof that when it comes to Romania’s interests and European security, we can act together. I have been and remain a supporter of political consensus on projects of national interest.

Our initiative comes at an important moment for the European Union, just as President Ursula von der Leyen is presenting the State of the Union, and represents a call for recognition of the strategic role of Romania and the Black Sea for the entire Union.

I would like to thank my colleagues for their support and for the consensus reached on this major objective.

I am proud that we have managed to take this step together and that I have colleagues with whom we can build joint initiatives.

Together we are making Romania stronger and more influential in the European Union!” says Negrescu.
