September 11 remains a painful wound, but also a warning: freedom, democracy and respect for human rights are never guaranteed, these values must be defended through action and responsibility, not just statements, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan conveyed in a message commemorating 24 years since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the US.
„Today, September 11, we pause for a moment of silence in remembrance of the tragedy that profoundly changed the modern world. We commemorate the lives lost in the United States and pay tribute to the courage of those who stepped in to save and protect – both survivors and first responders. We think of the victims’ families and all those whose lives were marked by that day. September 11 remains a painful wound, but also a warning: freedom, democracy and respect for human rights are never guaranteed. In a tense international context, with war and hybrid threats, these values must be defended through action and responsibility, not just words,” PM Bolojan stated.
Romania remains firmly committed to the Strategic Partnership with the US and international efforts for peace and security, with a special role in the Black Sea region, where stability is essential for the entire Euro-Atlantic community, the Prime Minister underscored.
„We have the duty to protect what was built through sacrifice and pass on to future generations a free, dignified and safe world, founded on respect and responsibility,” Bolojan also conveyed. AGERPRES
