Romgaz’s consolidated net profit increased by 7% in first nine months, to 2.43 billion RON

Romgaz recorded, in the first nine months of this year, a consolidated net profit of 2.43 billion RON, 7% higher compared to the same period of the previous year, according to a report sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Friday.

In the first nine months of 2024, the company reported a consolidated net profit of 2.27 billion RON.

„The consolidated net profit achieved in the third quarter, of 755.09 million lei, was 73.01% higher than the same period of the previous year as a result of the reduction in expenses by 19.40%, the fiscal effect being the most pronounced, with tax and duty expenses being lower by 316.67 million lei,” the report states.

According to the cited source, the consolidated net profit per share (EPS) was 0.63 RON.

Revenues from the sale of natural gas increased by 8.25% (5.24 billion RON in the nine-month period ended September 30, 2025), amid a 12.4% increase in the quantity of gas delivered compared to the same period in 2024, the report states.

At the same time, the turnover from the sale of electricity registered a decrease of 20.16% (245.03 million RON in the 9-month period ended September 30, 2025) at a quantity sold lower by 34.77%.

The consolidated turnover related to storage services registered an increase of 15.74% (432.14 million RON), as a result of the increase in consolidated injection revenues (+53.29%), the company specifies.

On September 30, 2025, the reserved capacity was 30,709,000 MWh (100%), the storage capacity being 93.80%.

„The estimated national natural gas consumption for the reporting period was 72.16 TWh, approximately 2.5% higher than that recorded in the similar period in 2024, of which approximately 22.79 TWh was covered with imported gas and the difference of 49.37 TWh with domestic gas,” the document also states.

For the first nine months of 2025, Romgaz’s total deliveries on the domestic market represented 54.89% of estimated national consumption, 3.3 percentage points more than in the same period last year, company representatives claim.

At the same time, Romgaz’s deliveries of natural gas from domestic production to the Romanian market represented 80.23% of the national consumption covered with gas from domestic production.

Natural gas production in the first 9 months of 2025 was 3.676 billion cubic meters, 0.1% higher than the production recorded in the similar period of 2024.

The amount of electricity produced in the first 9 months of 2025 was 480.1 GWh, 34.20% lower (249.6 GWh) compared to the same period last year. In the third quarter, Romgaz produced 138.6 GWh of electricity, 140.3 GWh, or 50.29%, less than in the same period in 2024.

On September 30, 2025, the Romgaz Group had 5,847 employees, and SNGN Romgaz SA had 5,330 employees.
