Senate President Abrudean: Romania, positively assessed in OECD working group on public integrity

Published on

Romania has received a positive assessment in the Working Group on Public Integrity of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Senate President Mircea Abrudean announced on Friday.

‘Another step towards joining the OECD. Romania has been positively evaluated in the working group on public integrity. Today in Paris I led the Romanian delegation that took part in the Working Group of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development on public integrity. The results confirm our commitment to implementing legislative and administrative reforms aimed at strengthening accountability and public trust in state institutions,’ Abrudean wrote on Facebook.

According to the National Liberal Party senator, consistency is needed because in the coming period the organisation will focus on continuing the implementation of the reform measures adopted, which are on a good track, in line with the organisation’s principles and standards.

‘Today’s success is the result of teamwork. I thank my colleagues in Parliament who understood the importance of adopting the legislative package for Romania, my colleagues Stefan Radu Oprea, secretary general of the Government, Radu Marinescu, minister of justice, Violeta Alexandru, president of the joint special parliamentary committee for joining the organisation, Luca Niculescu, national coordinator for Romania’s accession, the National Integrity Agency and the experts in the joint working teams in the ministries,’ Abrudean said.
