Senate President Mircea Abrudean in a message on Facebook, on Friday, on the occasion of the Hanukkah celebration, stated that the State of Israel is a strategic partner of Romania, with the friendship between the two states reflecting in projects, academic and educational exchanges.
„I lit, together with my son Stefan, one of the candles of hope, at the Gala organised by Tova Ben Nun-Cherbis, founding president of the Laude-Reut Educational Complex, on Thursday evening, at the Bucharest National Opera. The Hanukkah celebration speaks of faith and of people who have chosen to remain faithful to their identity. Our faith in God should be the light, the flame that guides us, it sustains hope when resources seem limited. Hanukkah speaks of peace. Peace is built through daily gestures, through respect, through dialogue, through the choice to see in the other a partner, not an adversary,” Abrudean wrote on Facebook on Friday.
According to the Senate President, the relationship between Romania and Israel has the „logic of shared light”.
„We have a common history, cultural bridges, economic collaboration, constant political dialogue. Israel is a strategic partner for our country, and our friendship is seen in projects, in academic and educational exchanges. Hanukkah lights symbolise the good deeds, decisions that protect and solidarity that heals. Let us carry the light from this evening every day, in every community, family, in the public space, in relations between states,” Abrudean said in his message. AGERPRES
