Romanian stock indices close mostly lower on Wednesday

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed Wednesday’s trading session with almost all indices in the red, and 48.69 million RON (10.01 million euros) worth of transactions, according to Agerpres.

The main BET index, which tracks the most liquid 20 companies, dropped 1.04 percent to 12,058.08 points, and the BET-Plus index which shows the evolution of the top liquid 37 shares lost 1 percentage point.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT of the top-liquid 25 issuers closed 0.95 percent lower, while the return benchmark index for stock investment funds BET-BK fell 0.59 percent.

The BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies inched up 0.26 percent, while the sectoral energy and related utilities index BET-NG dropped 1.55 percent.

The BET AeRO index of the 20 representative companies on the AeRO market lost 0.32 percent.

The most traded stocks on the Regulated Market were Banca Transilvania with 14.44 million RON worth of trading, followed by OMV Petrom with trades worth 7.01 million RON, and Fondul Proprietatea with 4.87 million RON.

According to BVB, the best performing issuers were Altur (+15 percent), Comcm Constanta (+8.87 percent), and Casa de Bucovina – Mountain Club (+3.29 percent).

Conversely, the issuers on a significant downward trend were UCM Resita (-11.17 percent), Romcab (-8.45 percent), and Condmag (-6.67 percent).
