The unemployment rate in July went down 0.2 percentage points, to 5.2 percent, as against the one registered in the previous month, and it was 1.5 percentage points higher among men, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) informs on Thursday, according to Agerpres.
The number of unemployed (aged between 15 and 74) estimated for July 2022 stood at 432,700 people, down both compared with the previous month (449,000) persons and from July 2021 (436,100 persons).
According to gender, the unemployment rate among men exceeded the rate among women by 1.5 percentage points (with the unemployment rate for men accounting for 5.8 percent and that among women being 4.3 percent).
The National Institute of Statistics draws attention on the still high level of unemployment among young people between 15 and 24 years of age, namely 22.8 percent.
For adults (25 to 74 years of age), the unemployment rate was estimated at 4.1 percent in July 2022 (3.3 percent in the case of women and 4.7 percent in the case of men). The number of unemployed aged 25 to 74 represented 73.9 percent of the total number of unemployed persons estimated for July 2022.
