The Ministry of Finance estimates that there will be no sudden changes in taxes next year, said Secretary of State Alin Chitu at a specialized event on Thursday, Agerpres reports.
He was asked if the Ministry of Finance is considering tax changes for 2023.
„We are now, at least for this year, on schedule with the legislative changes. We had GO [Government Ordinance] no. 16, through which a series of measures were taken, some of which were not confirmed by Parliament, but even so our objectives for the year 2023 are achieved, so we do not have any pressure from the perspective of sudden changes, to stick to the assumed calendar,” said Chitu, during the conference „PNRR – Investments for the Future Economy. Tax Reform,” organized by PwC Romania.
In his turn, Lucian Heius, the head of the National Fiscal Administration Agency, also said that there should not be any changes in the Fiscal Code next year.
„The year 2023 should not bring any more changes to the Fiscal Code, even if all the amendments brought by Go no. 16 did not lead to an increase in the main duties and taxes, but were adjustments and things put on the right track, I’m talking about the VAT tax rates where there were some discrepancies that had no logic. In 2023, no adjustment will be made, at least from the discussions so far, and this is normal,” said the ANAF head.
